Echinacea -this is one of the best immune stimulating herbs. It contains compounds such as echinacin, chicoric acid, and caffeic acid, all of which have antiviral properties similar to those of interferon, the body’s own antiviral compound. Chicoric acid has shown promise in the treatment of HIV.
Liquorice -tea is active against many viruses. The active constituent in liquorice (glycyrrhizin) can inhibit a number of processes involved in viral replication, such as a virus’s ability to penetrate host cells and change their genetic material. In laboratory studies, there are indications that glycyrrhizin inhibits the growth of HIV, and a few clinical trials have produced impressive results.
Astragalus -this herb is worth a try because it is a known potent antiviral activity against a wide range of other viruses.
St John’s Wort -This herb contains pseudohypericin and hypericin, compounds that are antiviral and have been shown to be active against HIV in laboratory studies.
Aloe -this herb contains acemannan, an immune-stimulating compound which may be beneficial to HIV treatment. In laboratory studies Acemannan was shown to be active against HIV. Aloe Juice is available in heath stores.

Oregano-this herb is full of antioxidants. Antioxidants are substances that mop up free radicals by neutralizing their ability to do damage. Take plenty of antioxidant teas particularly those made from oregano.

Onion-is one of the best sources of quercetin which is an antioxidant. Onion is a close relative of garlic and has many of the same antiviral effects.
